As if my crypt was their hive.

As feet fell on hollowed earth grown cold,
Grass so placid under brumal weight,

A girl I once knewI once knew a girl with blonde highlights in her hair, Who would run to just run, A girl who was just one of the boys who wanted to hang with the girls, But all they saw was this thin girl, who had the attention of all the guys, her friends. She was never afraid to jump or fall, To slip in the mud or to climb the trees, She watched the other girls play their games of Barbie dolls, And wondered why she looked like them but wasn’t one of them, So young and proud she took the leap, And tried to be one of their friends, The girls teased and called her names, Making fun of her blondA girl I once knew
